The EXIS group (Extremadura Information Systems) is framed within the Department of Computer Science at the University of Extremadura, belongs to the Spanish Network for excellence in the Databases and the Network for Research on Digital Libraries. Their research topics focus on issues relating to versioning of XML documents, the management of contexts in the Semantic Web and the use of Web services as a support for the construction of archaeological management systems, e-learning platforms or virtual proposals for the conservation and dissemination of musical heritage. Currently works with a group of Spanish Universities (UGR, UJI, UMA, and UPM), as part of the Project ICARO (TIN2005-09098-C05-05) which seeks to shed light on problems of integration, queries, resource analysis and ontologies in the Semantic Web.
